Obama’s Viral marketing campaign “Small Change for Big Change”
Small does matter! Internet does matter! Illinois Senator provided that small donors really matter. At least 9,500 supporters have launched personal fund-raising websites to solicit campaign donations from their family and friends. More than $10 million of Obama’s second quarter contributions were made online and 90% of them were in increments of $100 or less.
Obama held an online raffle in which those who gave at least $5 could win a chance to be part of a dinner for five with Obama. Not surprisingly other candidates are now beginning to focus more on small donors and new ways of reaching them. John Edward’s presidential operation has raised thousands by harvesting 13,000 cell-home numbers from people at campaign rallies.
