Introduction to Meditation

I have joined a 10 week course titled "Introduction to Meditation". Last Thursday is my first class. My original thought is: the coach will teach us some technique to focus and concentrate our mind. Instead, our coach teach us the relaxation technique borrowed from Yoga discipline to help us to relax ourselves. The meditation is actually the last few minutes after half hours body workout.

So never consider meditation is a mind-only exercise. It is the results of mind-and-body concentration and rest.

Hi,
Actually I am one of your classmates in the Meditation course. I happened to know your web and blog from your email address on the welcome message from Winnie..

I share a little bit different vision about the 'physical work out'. It makes sense to me that one needs to relax before one can enter another space/world with clear mind-set. Perhaps its the time constraint that the coach cannot make too much time for more introduction - I just feel that it needs more philosophical thoughts for us to learn meditation in addition to relaxation preparataion.

See ya.

Thanks Elaine!

So nice to meet you in the virtual world. Yes, agree with you. Meditation is more than physical workout, it's also about mental minds and also personal emotion. It's a good journey to join the class as our coach is very experienced. Hope to see and know you in the physical class.

Do drop me any comments here :-)

Hi again,
Actually I had some 'weird' experience when I practice the meditation. I saw old memory flipping like pictures when meditating. I was very sure that I was very focus on the breathing techniques but just can't control the rolling memory for which I already forgot in my consciousness. The coach said that this could be one of the normal experience and the memory should be something hidden in my consciousness that bothers me which I am not awared.

I start to be impressed about the power of meditation - it really helps to relief emotionwise.

Cheers,
Elaine

As our coach said, we need to learn "Let Go", just let our memory flash and move away, without trying to intervene or step in.

Indeed, I am always caught with the little noise from the street, with the noise from bus and people, I need to learn to let it go.

I start to enjoy the meditation! Do you?
